For the past few days spencer has been dressing as a pirate and then this morning we saw on the news that today was pirate day at the local science museum so we loaded up the family.

Otter Creek has Otters, but they do look like Calvin
Because the weather was lovely over the weekend, I forced the family out of the house for a hike. We took them to Radnor Lake State Natural Area bc it is close to the house and our travel guide book said the place was beautiful and full of wildlife; it failed to mention the foul pond scum but the place was pretty. We saw a doe and three fawn cross the road right in front of us--just feet away from jeremy and spencer. And I spotted an otter out on a tree trunk in the lake. Jeremy took the big kids down for a closer look to see that the otter was eating a fish. spencer was great about whispering around the critters. Aidyn snorted "uhhh" to the otter, who in turn looked back at her and then continued eating. Preston rode well in his carseat and seemed to enjoy the outdoors. This path was good for a newborn bc it was paved and we could use the stroller. Once i've recovered more and Preston can hold his head up we will have to go back and hike the trails with the smallest kids in backpacks. Of course jeremy will be glad bc pushing three kids uphill in the stroller today was more workout than he cared for.

Grandparent Detox and doctor appointments
I just got the calendar out to count how many days the kids have been with extended family during this crazy move: out of the last 102 days Spence and Aidyn have been with grandparents, aunts, and uncles a grand total of 71 days.
So we will now begin grandparent detox. Spence has been doing really well with the major changes, but Aidyn has been trying us. At 18 months there's just no way to communicate to her what is happening and her inability to communicate with us increases her frustration and hence she whines more. Fortunately for us, Uncle Phillip just called and asked for spence to spend the night with jack so we will be able to spend tonight having some fun time with Aidyn.
Both big kids seem to like the new house. Occasionally spence will say that sometimes he misses his old home and friends in atlanta but he seems excited to be in tennessee and has even asked about where we will be attending church--which is huge bc he never wants to go to church or to school. and both kids love, love, love their new brother--sometimes a bit too much, especially aidyn. today i caught her sitting up on top of Preston, kissing his head, while he was in his bouncy chair.
Preston is such a good baby that sometimes it is easy to forget he is home. He rarely cries. and sleeps well at night.

spencer at 3 years weighs 39 lbs (93%tile) and height is 40 in (90%tile)
aidyn at 18 months weighs17 lbs 10 oz (not even on the growth chart) and height is 29.75 in (3%tile)
preston at 2 weeks weighs 8 lbs 8 oz and height is 20.25 in

Preston Kincade
Playgroup friends, neighborhood moms, Discover group, and family: Here are a few pictures from Poppa's camera to tide you over til tomorrow. Our film is getting developed tonight and we will add them soon.
Hooray! We are home and finally have internet connection again. So much has happened since June 29th when we moved into our new home. The moving company left July 2nd and we (jeremy, marsha, and grandparents) spent July 3rd and 4th getting our boxes unpacked and putting our house in order. And then on the afternoon of July 5th, our son and God decided to surprise us with an early delivery. Preston Kincade was born at 6:39 pm and weighed 7 pounds, 10.5 ounces and 20 inches long. He has been such a blessing during this incredibly frustrating move. So far he has been an easy and sweet baby. Spencer and Aidyn adore him and they love to pet him and give him kisses. The delivery and recovery has been a breeze this time, with none of the complications we have had in past.
We visited Brentwood Hills church on July 1st and members of the Sunday school class are bringing us meals for the next 2 1/2 weeks. Amazing. What a blessing! We miss all of our Atlanta friends but we look forward to making new friendships here.
Our home phone number in Nashville changed last week. Please email us and we will reply with the correct address, home phone and email info bc I don't want to post that info online.

He's Here!
Hi everyone...This is Mary Alice (or Aunt May May, as I am better known these days) guest blogging for the proud new mom and dad. I am so happy to report that Preston (middle name still TBD) Duncan was born last night at 6:39 p.m. weighing in at 7 pounds, 10 and a half ounces. He is 20 inches long, has reddish blonde hair and bears a striking resemblance to his big brother!
I know that I am partial, but he is beautiful! Jeremy (or Jerome, as I call him - you should too because he LOVES it) and Marsha are doing great and will be resting at the hospital for the nest few days. We stopped by this morning to introduce Jack to his new baby cousin and were able to get a family photo to share with everyone.
Enjoy - and I am sure that Marsha will update everyone just as soon as she gets home and they get internet access set up!

Bible Study Group
Our friends from Bible study group had a party for us. Jeff and Melissa hosted a cookout and pool party. Was wonderful to have a relaxing evening surrounded by friends before we pack to leave tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for coming and for bringing our favorite foods and for all the kind words and well wishes. We love you all and will miss you. We look forward to a fall retreat so we can all be together again.

Father's Day
I can't get Blogger, Flickr, or Daily Motion to publish to the blog correctly. Any of you with a Mac please give me guidance. I don't have time to make an appointment with Apple til after the baby comes. So until then I will have to continue posting these sideways photos bc that's how the photo sites pull up pics from iPhoto library.
We dressed Aidyn up for Father's Day and bc it would be one of her last Sundays at Grace Chapel. As usual Spence wanted to wear a costume too so he dressed up as well. Aidyn LOVES her squeaky shoes. And wants to wear them daily. Thankfully Laura brought us back two more pair when she returned with baby Avery last week so we will have China shoes for next year too. Aidyn's hairbows are from China as well. They stay in the hair via a tight coiled spring--very different from any i have seen in the US.
I have a cute video of the kids walking so you can hear the shoes but i can't get it to upload correctly to the blog so just think of a dog's squeaky toy and you get a feeling for the shoes. once parents tire of them the squeakers can be taken out.

Updates on the move
We found an OB who will do the surgery so I can move with the family June 26th-30th. Won't know til june 29th what the delivery date will be. but should be sometime between july 5th and july 12th.
i think spence is finally accepting that we are moving and may be getting excited about it. last night he was playing in the den and aidyn was in the kitchen. she was busily pulling plastic cups from the cabinet and tossing them across the kitchen. spence yelled at her and told her that she needed to stop making a mess because no one would want to buy our house if it was messy. then he went into the kitchen, moved her out of the way, and picked up all of the cups and placed them back in the cabinet. he has been really great help for me while daddy has been away.

We Found a House
I took a week to find a house while the kids stayed with grandparents and cousins in Arkansas. They had way more fun than i did. But we found a house. We have a contract and will close on this house June 28th. It is SEVEN minutes from Jeremy's office!!!!!! The kids and mom and dad got to see the house saturday. Everyone seemed excited about the new place. We will give you photos of the inside once it is ours.
Our movers will pack and unload us June 26-30th. Still haven't found an OB to take me in Tennessee, so I may be in Georgia through July 13th until my OB releases me to travel with baby.

No news
Our home is showing but no offers yet. This week Spence is in Nashville with Jeremy while Aidyn and I are home for an OB appointment. The boys are staying with cousin Jack. Thankfully Mary Alice and Phillip are taking care of Spence while Jeremy works. Next week all of us will go to Nashville and stay in a hotel close to Jeremy's office. I will spend the week looking for place to live. And we still aren't sure if we will celebrate Spencer's 3rd birthday in Tennessee or in Georgia bc his birthday is Friday the 8th. But we know it will be a Red party because he has been asking for weeks to have a Red party, and to invite Lightening McQueen, Sally, and Mater. (which totally serves justice to mom and dad since we have made fun of Nascar forever and now our son asks to watch car races on tv).

Last day of Preschool
Spencer was so proud to take his flowers to his teachers. He loves American flags, so it was an easy choice for him to pick these flowers. He also made cards for Ms. Kathy and Ms. Susan.

During the week we learned of our move, in the midst of packing boxes, taking loads of stuff to storage facility, meeting with realtors and such, our friends Chet, Dusty, and Mary Joyce visited us on April 27th. We only had a little while to give hugs, eat lunch, and play. Since that meeting Chet has been transferred to a new ministry position in Florida. They move in June. And they have a baby girl due a week after us. I keep telling them that they must stop copying us on all our life events.

Happy 10th
Today, we were supposed to be relaxing on the Pacific coast. Taking a scenic ten day driving tour of California, Oregon, and Washington for our 10th anniversary. We booked the trip back in October before life got to be so hectic. Last week J cancelled our reservations, since, you know, we are having a son in approximately 8 weeks, J moves to Nashville to start his new job in one week, and we have to sell and buy a house this summer.
Those who have known us our entire marriage know that the current state is pretty normal for us. Never a dull moment. I'm looking forward to all of the fun the next ten years will bring. It's gonna be hard to top the first ten.

Still in chaos.
What a whirlwind we have lived through the past two weeks.
J found out about the move on april 23rd. we spent that week boxing up items and that weekend moving 50+% of our stuff to storage, to Goodwill, to recycling center and to our curb for a Free garage sale.
Spencer saw that the movers, Josh and Brennan, had loaded his toys into the moving truck and he decided to liberate them. We ended up spending the afternoon getting stitches on his nose because he fell on the loading ramp.
The Grands picked the kids up on April 29th and they have been in alabama since then.
J and I spent that week staging the house. (if you ever need someone to pack all of your belongings and make a room ready to sell, please contact Kim S. and if you ever need someone to clean the inside of every light fixture, every fan blade, stain and paint your window sills and door trim, clean every square inch of your home, please contact Sarah L.) we have great friends!!
J and I spent a weekend in Tennessee looking for housing and came home empty handed. I flew down to Alabama for a week to see the kids. He is going back to Tennessee this weekend to keep searching for a house and to look at apartments. I will fly home next week.
Today the painters finished nuetralizing the kitchen, laundry room, stairwell, aidyn's room, guest bathroom, and hallway. J says it is as dull as dull in our kitchen now without the pretty stripes. and hopefully the landscapers will come do the backyard soon. the house is finally showing. took forever for the pics to get online with mls.
For all of those who have requested throwing us a goodbye party, we still don't know when all four of us will be together at home. The kids will be in alabama til may 19th and J leaves for the new job on may 20th.
miss you and hope to see you soon. please pray we have a place to live soon. i start my weekly OB appointments on May 28th so would be great to be settled for the last month of pregnancy.
