All three--Our favorite Shot of the bunch
While in Alabama last week, we took the kids in for portraits with their grandparents. They enjoyed the photographers so we were able to get some great photos. I edited these from the originals on the disc we received. I have lots of these shots in various sizes, so if there is a particular pose or size you want please let me know.

storytime
well, until i find my camera we shall have to do with stories.
last week i was putting spence down for a nap. and as he climbed into his top bunk he said, "I don't want to take a nap right now." And I told him he needed to keep climbing up bc he was going to take a nap. And in a menacing tone he shot back with, "Don't be ridiculous Mom or I'm gonna take you down to Chinatown."

Happy Birthday Aidyn!
Aidyn turned two on January 9th. Spencer wanted icing for her birthday so while he was at preschool Aidyn and I made cupcakes to go with the icing. We went grocery shopping for a missing ingredient and as always Aidyn asked for a balloon. Since it was her day I let her get one. I requested a Minnie balloon but we had to settle for a giant Mickey head. I thought she would love it but once they attached it to our cart Aidyn went nuts. She was scared of Mickey. Once we got home she would run screaming from whichever room Mickey floated.
This was the first time Aidyn has asked to help me bake. She asked by dragging a kitchen chair over to the counter and climbing up in it the way she has seen Spence do. (quite comical watching her 19 pounds drag a heavy 1950s chair). We tried a new recipe for strawberry cupcakes and she loved it.
That afternoon I ended up babysitting Zara, Zena, and Zola while their mom unfortunately had to attend a memorial service, so we had a bit of a birthday party with me entertaining six kids. I hauled out all of our cookie sprinkles and sugars and candies and they iced and decorated their cupcakes (and in Spencer's case ate off the icing and reiced the cupcakes and ate more icing--he doesn't like cake). What a hit!!! I may have to do this for every upcoming birthday party for the next couple of years--much easier than trying to make a fancy cake.
I blew up more balloons so they could play in them, and seeing all the big kids play with the Mickey balloon made Aidyn jealous. Even though she didn't like him she knew he was hers so she tried to stop them from enjoying Mickey. And in all of her efforts she had to get really close to Mickey and learned that he wouldn't eat her so now she likes him okay.
In all of this excitement my digital camera went AWOL. The kids were playing with it and then it was gone. So sorry Tonggu friends, I don't have a photo for our collage until that camera resurfaces or I can get some film developed. We will have a family birthday party and open her gifts and eat cake when her grandparents come on the 18th so I will have another chance to get a birthday photo then.

6 months old
In the last month Preston has grown some red hair; he has just enough to make one tiny curl that stands up on the tip of his head. He weighs 16 lbs. 13 oz. He "talks" all the time. Jeremy can make him laugh hysterically by tickling his tummy. And he likes his jumper/swing. We are constantly amazed at how similar Preston looks to Spencer's photos from same age.
The following pictures are of Spencer at 6 months. Spencer was two pounds smaller though; he weighed 14 lbs 12 oz at 6 months.

My Mom was right
Well, at my parent's house for Christmas my mom had laid back a bunch of my childhood toys so I could take them home for my kids. I laughed pretty hard when I opened a trash bag to discover my Lite Brite. It had been in the attic for twenty-something years. I didn't think the kids would care much for it, because in playing with it again as an adult I thought it was a lame toy. Boy was I wrong. With all of the high-tech toys that Santa brought to our house this year, Aidyn and Spencer keep asking to play with the old Lite Brite. Thanks Mom and Dad!
Second Annual Santa Scare
A repeat of last year's Santa experience. Just like last year's post, here is the best photo of seven. Yep, this is the best. The boys look bored because they have been in Santa's lap for a while. Preston willingly went to Santa. And Spencer hopped right into Santa's lap, talked to him, asked him for a choo choo train, and thanked him for his candy-cane. All the while I am trying to get Aidyn within three feet of Santa.
